COVID-19 NOTIFICATION – Telehealth/video appointments available.
You do not need a referral to come in for an appointment unless you would like a rebate from Medicare (see below for eligibility).
Medicare Rebates
Lindsay is a registered Medicare provider. Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The current Medicare rebate for a Clinical Psychologist is $126.50 per individual session. Please see your GP to assess if you are eligible for the rebate. When booking an appointment with your GP do let the receptionist know you will require the doctor to do a mental health care plan so they can allow suitable time for the appointment. You will need to bring both the referral letter and mental health care plan provided by your GP to the appointment with Lindsay.
Individual sessions typically run for 50 minutes. A full detailed history is taken at your first session in order to develop a shared understanding of your concerns and difficulties as well as your goals and expectations. You will be invited to share information about your concerns, symptoms, history, current stressors, and strategies that have or have not worked in the past. The session is conducted in a collaborative manner and at a pace that is comfortable for you. Lindsay encourages you to ask as many
questions as needed. At the end of the session, treatment options will be discussed (i.e. therapeutic approach, approximate number of sessions, frequency of attendance).
Private Health Rebates
If you are a member of a private health fund you may be able to claim a rebate. Please call your private health provider to check if you are covered for psychology services.
Cancellations
Please be aware that 24 hour notice is required for cancellation of appointments otherwise you will be charged the full fee. There are no Medicare or private health rebates for cancelled sessions.
